G’day, I’m Jim Winton Porter – Founder of Manea Manava Consulting.
I’ve been working in the health and community aged and disability sector for over 30 years, with a strong focus on supporting First Nations communities throughout that time. My experience includes managing and setting up programs in community health, chronic disease, aged care, disability support, and social and emotional wellbeing.

I started Manea Manava Consulting as a way to share what I’ve learned and to support others working in the sector. I’m passionate about professional development and strengthening community-led services with practical, real world experience.
My Story
I've spent my life working to support others, particularly in the health, aged care, disability, and community services sectors. Over the years, I’ve come to understand the many systems at play in this space, along with the real challenges people and organisations face on the ground. Whether it’s navigating funding models, establishing programs, or supporting teams through change, I’ve always believed in leading with kindness, compassion, and empathy.

My approach is grounded in practical outcomes; getting things done, achieving positive results within realistic timeframes, and doing so in a cost-effective way. I’ve had the opportunity to work across both public and private sectors, in government and non-government roles, and I bring that breadth of experience into everything I do.

Outside of work, I’m a proud dad to three boys. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me writing poetry, surfing, acting, or working on a film project. The creative side of life keeps me balanced and inspired.
Manea Manava Consulting is my way of giving back to the sector I care so deeply about, and helping others create meaningful, lasting change in their communities.
